The Negotiation Response Team (N.R.T.) is designed to respond to critical incidents involving barricaded subjects, with or without hostages, and suicidal subjects.  The Negotiation Response Team works in conjunction with the Special Response Team (S.R.T.) to help defuse high risk situations.  Team members concentrate their involvement in situations by attempting to establish a verbal rapport with hostage takers, subjects threatening suicide or barricaded subjects who may have committed a crime.  The N.R.T. attempts to effectively establish a dialog of communications in an effort to peacefully resolve situations, when possible, without the use of tactical intervention.
