Rosa Willams (Chairperson) & Chief Tony Jones
The Black on Black Crime Task Force is a cooperative effort between the Gainesville Police Department and citizens who work in partnership to devise innovative strategies to reduce crime, particularly in disadvantaged areas of the community. Staff support from the Gainesville Police Department is provided to the organization by performing such tasks as recording minutes at the monthly meetings, sending out advance notice of these meetings, and fulfilling many other administrative functions for the Task Force.
Traditionally, the Black on Black Crime Task Force meets the first Wednesday of each month at 5:30 p.m. With few exceptions, due to holiday or event conflicts, that date and time is accurate. Since the Police Station is under construction, the meeting site has been moved to the Kirby Smith Building, located at 620 East University Avenue, in the Alachua County School Board’s Conference Room. Interested citizens are encouraged to attend.
