About Us

The Gainesville Police Department is a full-service, community oriented policing law enforcement agency dedicated to partnering with our citizens for problem resolution. In 2007, the Gainesville Police Department (GPD) continued its mission to serve and protect the City through enhanced programs and citizen interaction. This collaborative effort has made Gainesville one of the most livable cities in the United States. The goals of our agency are to reduce the number of calls for service, decrease crime through prevention and enforcement and enhance the quality of life for the citizens of Gainesville.
