The Neighborhood Street Crimes Unit (NSCU) is a two officer unit developed to work the areas in and around Gainesville Housing Authority (GHA) properties. Their primary mission is to make these communities safer and to this end, they work closely with the GHA staff. Since they spend a large amount of time in these communities, NSCU officers come to know the residents, which lead to greater community involvement and cooperation. They currently work in conjunction with the Gang Intervention Team.
The Gainesville Housing Authority is dedicated to fostering a high quality of life for our residents by providing safe and affordable housing for our families in our community who meet the federal guidelines for admission to our programs. The Authority will meet their needs by promoting upward mobility opportunities for them in partnership with private and public agencies.
The Authority will promote the values of pride, dignity, respect, and personal responsibility in all its endeavors, and will offer quality service to our clients in which our staff embodies those values in its treatment of all whom we serve.
The Authority will operate in accordance with HUD Annual Contributions Contract and all applicable statutes, executive orders, and regulations.
