In March 2005, the Youth Violence Task Force was created to deal with a number of issues related to juveniles committing crimes of violence.  The members of the task force include the State Attorney's Office, Department of Juvenile Justice, Probation and Parole, the Alachua County Sheriff's Office and the Gainesville Police Department.
