Accomplishments

Lieutenant Dahlem was instrumental in the development of GPD’s Data Trac Room

Lieutenant Dahlem never hesitated to stop and assist people in trouble and there are numerous “Thank You” letters from citizens in his file. His personnel file contains numerous letters of appreciation and commendations, as well as special recognition for volunteering for the “City of Gainesville Employees Fundraiser for the Victims of the New York City and Washington, D.C. Tragedies” in September 2001, and providing assistance during Hurricane Floyd in September 1999.

Lieutenant Dahlem’s personnel file contains letters from the students at Hidden Oak Elementary School thanking him for attending Career Day at their school (October 1991).

Lieutenant Dahlem was recognized for displaying exemplary performance as Incident Commander during a barricaded subject incident on June 17, 1997.

Lieutenant Dahlem was a member of the City Manager’s TEAM (The Employee Action Motivators) from 1998-2001; he assisted with the Citizens Academy curriculum in 2003; served on the Chief’s Organizational Structure Committee; and served as Assessor for Dekalb County, Alabama in 1999.

He received a commendation from the FBI for the arrest of Anthony Francis Mazza, Jr. in November 1996
