Lt. Sherry Scott is in charge of the Gainesville Police Department's Special Programs and Analysis Division which encompasses the DataTrac process and the Crime Analysis Unit. The Gainesville Police Department created their DataTrac room and implemented a management program based upon the New York City's CompStat and Broward County's PowerTrac Management System. DataTrac is the process by which our Department Commanders are evaluated regarding the effectiveness of their response to criminal activity, tactics they deploy and the follow-up methods utilized. Department Commanders make formal presentations on a regular basis about events in each of their areas of responsibilities.
