Police Officer Eligibility Requirements All
applicants must meet the following minimum requirements in order to apply for a
police officer position: Ø
Must be at least 21 years of age. Ø
Must be a United States citizen. Ø Must possess a valid Florida driver’s license at time of employment. Ø
Military Discharge: Must posses proof of honorable discharge if
applicant served in the U.S. Armed Forces.
Ø
Must have one of the following: ·
Sixty college semester hours from an approved accredited college /
university. · Four years of active duty military service. ·
Two years of field or investigative military police experience. · Two years of full-time criminal justice related operational work experience (correctional officer or law enforcement officer) with a municipal, county, state, or federal law enforcement agency. · Currently enrolled in or have successfully completed a Florida Certified Police Training Academy. DISQUALIFIERS Applicants
can not have any of the following: Ø
Use, possession, or cultivation of any illegal controlled
substance in current lifestyle. Ø
Any felony conviction or any conviction in another state that
would be considered a felony in Florida. Ø
Any conviction of a misdemeanor involving moral turpitude, false
statements, perjury, or domestic violence.
