Police Report Cycle
The
Gainesville Police Department's Intake Unit is responsible for managing case jacket
information sent to the State Attorney's Office for incidents which
involve
adult felony arrests and felony sworn complaints. Juvenile
felony arrests and sworn complaints are processed if there is an adult
co-defendant or if the juvenile has been previously adjudicated as an adult. The Intake Unit also serves as a liaison for the State Attorney's Office , Public Defender's office, private attorneys, or other law enforcement agencies when requests are made for additional information.
The Intake Unit also serves as the department's custodian for in-car video tapes. All tapes are initiated, issued, maintained, copied and filed by the Unit.
