Technical Services Division Responsibilities: The Technical Services Division is part of the Administrative and Technical Services Bureau. Dave Duda is the Technical Services Division Commander. This unit has the responsibility for departmental information systems and is the first point of contact for any information system related issue or problem. We work closely with the staff of the City’s Computer Services Department as well as with City and other jurisdictional information systems staffs to provide state of the art automation tools as well as access to regional, statewide and national information resources. We currently support all of the Department's personal computers and several servers. These systems and various network components are housed in various locations which include the Main Police Facility, the Special Investigative Unit Annex, the Oscar Lewis Center, the Gainesville Regional Airport, the Oaks Mall, and the SFCC Downtown center and several other facilities. A brief listing of resources available to Department members include the HTE computer aided dispatch system, the OSSI records management system, FCIC/NCIC access including FCIC-II, CJNet and Cyberlinxx to the desktop, access to the Clerk of the Court’s Nixdorf System, AFIS latent examiner’s access to the FDLE fingerprint database, and Internet access. We also support a full range of desktop software packages such as the Microsoft Office suite as well as various specialty programs.
