Crime analysis is the collection and analysis of information pertaining to crimes.  Vast amounts of crime data are analyzed for crime pattern detection, suspect correlation, target-suspect profile, and crime forecasting.  Information provided by crime analysts is used for resource allocation and staffing issues, and to support the operations in patrol, investigations, and other agencies.
